Materiality
In 2020, the SSG undertook a 'materiality assessment’ – reviewing what sustainability priorities and topics were most material and important to the Australian beef industry in 2020.
It followed up on the initial assessment in 2016 that helped in the devising of the sustainability priorities in the Australian Beef Sustainability Framework (ABSF) when it was launched in 2017. With much changing in the world since, the materiality review helped to ensure the ABSF remains up to date, and measures and reports on topics that matter.
The SSG intend on undertaking regular materiality assessments, with the next one due in 2025.
